Nintendo finally won the case against Anascape after years of lawsuits, now the japanese gameproducer faces another lawsuit. The in Maryland, United States established IA Labs has accused Nintendo for infringement on two patents.
According to IA Labs Nintendo uses technologies that are patented by IA Labs in the Nintendo Wii, Wii Fit, Wii Fit Plus, the Wii Balance Board, Wii-mote, Wii Wheel, Wii MotionPlus, Wii Nunchuck and Wii Zapper. The patents are about the possibility to game and to move simultaneously. Ofcourse IA Labs claims to be damaged by the acts of Nintendo on their patents.
IA Labs also claims that it was in contact with Nintendo in the period of 2007-2008 via email considering the overlapping of patents, with as target to get a deal with Nintendo about the licensing. Now IA Labs tries to get some compensation (money) from Nintendo in court, because they think there was an infringement on patents.
